History of the Instrument
A fine modern American cello by Rodney Miller, crafted in New Hampshire in 2011. Miller, a respected contemporary maker, is known for his meticulous workmanship and deep understanding of the cello’s acoustic requirements. This instrument is modeled after classic Italian forms, with careful attention to wood selection and graduation, resulting in a cello that offers both clarity and warmth of tone.
The varnish is a transparent amber-brown, skillfully applied to highlight the natural beauty of the wood. The cello’s response is immediate and even across all registers, with a rich, projecting sound that suits both solo and ensemble settings. Miller’s work is increasingly sought after by advancing students and professional cellists alike for its reliability, tonal depth, and refined aesthetic.
A superb example of modern American craftsmanship—offered in excellent condition.
